This is very important if you are traveling in group and with children. 2. Schedules. In any given situation, knowing the departure time of the train will help greatly in your preparation. On the other hand, knowing the estimated time of arrival gives your expectant hosts an idea on when to pick you up. 3. Pre-Departure Checklist. These are the important things and documents that must be with you when you travel.  You must ensure that you have your identifications and tickets that you can easily access. Other must-have includes Health and Medical Precautions and Travel Insurance. 4. Baggage. Most trains require a certain number of luggage that you must bring. More often than not, the count of baggage is per person/passenger. Make sure to check the train’s baggage guidelines to avoid bringing unacceptable things on board. 5. Meals. While most trains allow passengers to bring food and beverages, long travel that takes days also requires you to eat. Trains offer meals that you can inquire in advance. 6. Entertainment. Long travel can be boring. It is advisable that you bring some personal and entertaining items that can use during your travel. Some of the recommended entertaining stuff include deck of cards, board games, magazines and books, travel journal as well as CD or DVD player (with headphones), crossword puzzles and coloring books for children, etc. You may also bring pillow and blanket that you can use if want to sleep. 7.
